Volunteer Training Requirements

At Dover Health, all volunteers complete a combination of online and in-person training designed to prepare them to support patients and families effectively.

Online Training Modules
Start with self-paced online lessons covering hospice basics, patient privacy, safety, and your volunteer role. These lessons can be completed on your own schedule.

Supervised Shadowing
After online training, shadow experienced staff or volunteers to see patient visits firsthand, ask questions, and gain confidence before volunteering on your own.

Your Time Commitment
Whether it’s two hours a week or two hours a month, your time as a Dover Health hospice volunteer brings comfort and support when it matters most.
